Dr Elisa Schramm

Postdoc

Elisa is a postdoctoral researcher for the PROSPERA project. Elisa holds a BA of Sciences Po Paris in political science, a MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and an MSc in Nature, Society and Environmental Governance from the University of Oxford. She has recently completed her PhD in Geography and the Environment at the University of Oxford.

Elisa’s PhD research has focused on how post-capitalist world-building is made actionable in everyday practice in eco-communities in France and Catalonia, where she has conducted extensive, multilingual ethnographic research. She has built on more-than-human geographies, STS and non-representational theories as well as economic geography and sociology to do so.

Within PROSPERA,  she will be investigating post-growth mobilities, applying and pushing further insights from her PhD research with a particular emphasis on everyday mobility practices and transformative processes in the transport sector that may lead towards post-growth. She will be investigating innovations in transport and mobilities that go beyond an emphasis on individual choice and/or technological solutions, and focus on the interplay of infrastructures, bodies and imaginaries in this context.
